Bio

My name is Kurt Miller and I'm a filmmaker.

I've been filming since about the age of 13, the first camera I ever owned was a Panasonic VHS camcorder that was purchased by my father. I worked around his house doing miscellaneous duties in hopes of earning enough money to purchase a camera that I could call my own. Through out the years hobbies of mine required better high-end equipment. I started filming skateboarding at the age of 14 and developed my own particular style of filming. I've had many cameras through-out the years (including still shot), from VHS, JVC, Hi8, Super 8mm, Super 8 S, 35mm, to the last video camera I've ever purchased, the DCR-VX1000.

My objective in life is to keep filmmaking the art form that it is and to make stories that have never been told. I enjoy collaborating with people in different ways and truly understand how powerful story telling can be. I enjoy working with actors and experimenting in different acting styles or genres. I believe every story should be as impressive in its performance as it is with its visual craft.

Outside of directing films my second love is film editing. Having a computer oriented background has helped me adapt to non-linear editing systems such as Avid Adrenaline. I enjoy working with directors and using these tools to help he or she get exactly what is wanted or how he or she envisions it. I know what it takes to make a scene work, coverage that's needed and a lot of other vital reasons to make a cut.

I fully respect all aspects of the filmmaking process and plan on expressing myself through making films for as long as I live.
